One of the many great things to do in Idaho is to go swimming at one of Idaho’s over 130 swimmable natural hot springs. Some of the hot springs are commercial operations and charge admission. There are many that are located near campgrounds and are free. Most of the commercial hot springs also have swimsuits and towels for rental just in case you happen to be driving by and decide to stop. Here’s a list of some local favorites.

- Open 365 days a year, but in the winter time when there is snow, it is only accessible by snowmobile.
The Springs is also an outdoor natural hot springs. Their website recommends that you call and make reservations ahead of time as they limit the number of people who can be in the pool at one time. This is a resort and includes complimentary spa amenities including their signature shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, grooming products, sunscreen and moisturizer. Gold Fork Hot Springs is located south of McCall, in Donnelly, Idaho.

Kirkham Hot Springs, is located in Kirkham Campground is located next to the South Fork Payette River just east of Lowman, Idaho, along Highway 21 at an elevation of 4,000 feet. Visitors enjoy soaking in popular Kirkham Hot Springs on the banks of the river and exploring the scenic Kirkham Ridge Trail.
Kirkham Hot Springs features shallow rock pools (unimproved) with sand/rock bottoms next to the river. The multiple hot waterfalls are quite the sight! Both the pools and hot waterfalls can be seen from a large pullout off highway 21 on the west side of the campground.
